A special Memorial Day ceremony was held in Yonkers Monday as family and friends remembered those who have given their lives for our country.
Two headstones were unveiled at the ceremony, held at Empire Post 375.
The solemn sounds of bagpipes played and rifles were fired to serve as a reminder to the younger generation of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
"I believe that they should know what went on in the past, like they will know what goes on in the future, just like for the men and women who are fighting right now," says Vietnam War veteran Joseph Porcelli.
