A Pelham Village trustee is facing child porn charges.
Christopher Riem, 49, was arraigned in Pelham Town Court Friday afternoon.
He is charged with one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and one count of possession an obscene sexual performance by a child.
The Westchester District Attorney's Office tells News 12 they executed a search warrant at Reim's Benedict Place home Friday morning. They say a preliminary search of his computer indicated he possessed images of sexual performances by children.
After his court appearance, bail was set at $5,000. Riem, a husband and father of one, is due back in court later this month. He has been the village trustee since 2014.
News 12 stopped by Village Hall to see if Reim was holding office hours, but he was not there. Village officials said they have no comment about the charges.
According to the Village of Pelhams website, Reim is a managing partner of Civitas Ventures – a venture capital fund.
