State and local police spent much of Monday in a West Harrison neighborhood in connection to a suspected homicide 50 miles away in Putnam County.
Detectives returned to Park Avenue in West Harrison to tow away a vehicle, knock on doors and talk to neighbors in connection to the suspicious death last week of Mahopac resident Perla Gatchalian.
Gatchalian, 75, was found dead in her Putnam County home last Thursday.
Carmel police say they were in West Harrison following up on leads.
Investigators were reportedly looking to see if Gatchalian had family in the area.
Carmel police also confirmed they removed a car from a home on Park Avenue over the weekend, but they won't say which one.
Carmel police tell News 12 that they are treating the case as a homicide, but can't call it a murder until they get word from the medical examiner's office.
