<p>A man was rushed to the hospital after a shooting in Mount Vernon. Police responded to the area of East 3rd Street and Franklin Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired. </p>

A man was rushed to the hospital after a shooting in Mount Vernon.
Police responded to the area of East 3rd Street and Franklin Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired.
According to police, they found the victim in the parking lot of the MegaMat Super Laundromat with a single gunshot wound to his leg.
The man was sitting up and talking to police while EMT workers tended to him.
Police could be seen searching the area and inside a car.
The victim was said to be in stable condition.
