Tree crashes onto Mamaroneck apartment building

Power has been restored to a apartment complex in Mamaroneck that had a huge tree crash onto it Tuesday evening.

The tree fell on the 800 block of West Boston Post Road and caused a transformer pole to lean. High winds from the blizzard of 2017 are most likely to blame for the downed tree.

There was no exterior damage to the building, but Con Edison crews were at the scene and had to turn the power off during cleanup. "I got done with work...and I see a tree on my house, right in my living room window," said resident Joe Bonito. Bonito called 911 and said crews quickly arrived on the scene.

Amazingly, no one was hurt. Residents were allowed to stay there for the night.
