Mount Vernon residents struggle to dig out from ice-covered snow

Mount Vernon residents said the ice-covered snow made it much harder to dig out from Tuesday's storm than they had anticipated.

Many said they spent most of Wednesday morning cleaning up what froze overnight, and crews were working to clear paths for pedestrians to walk.

Crews worked into the evening Wednesday to clear up streets and paths.

News 12 meteorologists say temperatures are expected to rise going into next week, but snow showers are expected for the weekend.
