Homeowner reportedly hospitalized after Putnam Valley house fire

Flames ripped through a single-family home in Putnam Valley Wednesday morning.

Fire officials say the fire broke out at 31 Woods End Road just after 7:30 a.m.

Crews say they had a difficult time putting the blaze out because the home is at the end of a narrow street and there are no hydrants nearby. Tankers were called in to assist, and crews were able to get the fire under control.

The owner of the home was reportedly taken to Hudson Valley Hospital.

There is no word on his condition at this time.
