Hundreds rally in Port Chester ahead of school bond vote
Hundreds in Port Chester rallied in support of an upcoming school bond vote.
Parents, students and other supporters attended the rally at Port Chester H.S., which looked to spread the message that the $79 million school bond must pass.
Sonja Davis is a parent who says she'll be willing to pay a slightly higher property tax in return for a better future for the school district's students and Port Chester's homeowners.
"It's increasing like $365 a year in taxes," said Davis. "We spend more than that eating out."
The bond money would go to pay for new athletic facilities, new classrooms for every school and other capital improvements.
The bond vote is set for Tuesday.
