Protesters: Too many progressive bills dying on NY Senate floor

Protesters carried a symbolic casket in front of Rockland County Court in New City on Saturday to send a message to state lawmakers.

Organizers say the procession was an effort to shed light on a number of progressive bills they say have died recently on the state Senate floor.

The group was also taking aim at Democratic state Sen. David Carlucci, who they say has been aligning with Republicans.

Sen. Carlucci says his record stands for itself and urged those attending the rally to refocus their efforts on getting more Democrats elected in the next election.

The event was organized by residents in District 38.
