High school students take part in robotics competition

Some of the Hudson Valley's brightest young minds competed Sunday for the title of best robot.

After weeks of preparation, teams from 48 high schools came to Rockland Community College for the Hudson Valley Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

All the students' hard work was on display before a crowd of hundreds, who were there to watch them battle it out for best robot.

Participants say they learned valuable skills while building the robots that are important for a number of technological jobs.

The winner moves on to the robotics championship finals in St. Louis on April 26.
