Harrison EMS receives new contract after 12 years

The Harrison EMS is operating under a new contract after 12 years without a contract.

Harrison Mayor Ron Belmont says the town issued Harrison EMS a new contract because of its overall improvements, including quicker response times.

Mayor Ron Belmont says that after 12 years without a contract, the EMS department is now capable of exceeding safety expectations while staying on its $500,000 budget.

Bob Frankel, the co-chairman of Harrison EMS, says the new contract will also enhance the department's community outreach to nearly 10,000 people.
