Fans treated to a win at Yankee Stadium for Opening Day

Fans were treated to a Bronx Bombers win at Yankee Stadium Monday for Opening Day in the Bronx.

The Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 8-1, backed by a strong outing by pitcher by Michael Pineda.

Pineda took a perfect game into the seventh inning and struck out 11 batters.

Fans at the game saw a few new upgrades to Yankee Stadium, including new outdoor spaces with USB charging stations.

There is also a new play area for kids, along with a new food lineup for the 2017 season.

Eats from local restaurants Mighty Quinn's BBQ and Lobel's steaks have been added to the menu.

Monday's game was the 115th home opener in Yankees franchise history. The win was manager Joe Girardi's 900th career win with the Yankees.
