Real estate market on the rise in Hudson Valley

Residents looking to sell their homes should jump at the chance as real estate officials report that the price of homes in the Hudson Valley has increased.

The Hudson Valley Gateway of Realtors released a report Monday that states the median price of a home in the Hudson Valley is $600,000. That's up more than 5 percent from last year. The realty group also says there have been sharp increases in sales in Putnam and Orange counties.

Real estate broker Dorothy Botsoe, whose office is based in White Plains, says business is booming. She says this may be not only the right time to buy, but also to sell.

"I absolutely would be putting my home on the market now because it's not a lot of inventory," says Botsoe. "It's very limited."

Botsoe adds that inventory goes fast so if you see something you like you have to grab it.
