Man stabbed in Yonkers

Police say a Yonkers man is recovering after being stabbed overnight.

They say the 25-year-old man, whose name is not being released, was with friends in the first-floor hallway of 47 Riverdale Ave. just before midnight Tuesday when the incident occurred.

Officials say that's when another man suddenly stabbed the victim with a small knife.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, standing about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He took off after the stabbing.

Police found the victim just up the street from the building at the corner of South Broadway and Prospect Street.

Investigators say the victim told them he was walking to the hospital and that he did not know his attacker.

The man suffered injuries to his arm and back and was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have made, and no motive for the attack has been given.
