CSX freight train strikes truck in Haverstraw

A CSX freight train hit a commercial truck carrying cars in Haverstraw on Wednesday.

A CSX spokesperson said the front car of the train struck the truck at the New Main Street crossing around 4:20 p.m.

The spokesperson said there were no injuries to the train crew members, nor was there damage to the train itself or leaks or spills from items it was carrying.

News 12 has learned that the truck may have stalled on the tracks and has heard that the driver was not injured.

There were a total of 124 cars plus two locomotives on the train, and the train did not derail.

The train was going from Selkirk, New York, to Newark, New Jersey.
