Parishioners celebrate Easter at St. John's Church

Parishioners packed the pews at St. John's Church in Yonkers Easter Sunday to celebrate one of the holiest days on the Christian calendar.

"It's a beautiful day," said one attendee. "And it's a great day to be with family and be thankful for everything we are here for."

While Easter Sunday traditionally draws big crowds at Catholic churches, recent data from the Pew Research Center shows that the number of Catholics in the United States has dropped by three million since 2007.

Father Peter John Cameron said he isn't discouraged by the data.

Father Cameron also says that Easter does not end on April 16. He says there are seven Sundays in Easter, which will lead to Pentecost in June.
