Playing With Fire: The Town Board's decision
Ramapo Town officials met Monday night behind closed doors to discuss how to handle fire inspector Adam Peltz, who allegedly gave passing grades on building inspections to private schools that had hazardous violations.
Officials are expected to make the announcement public on Wednesday at a public meeting.
Sources have hinted that he will be suspended for 60 days without pay, but not fired. Sources also say that officials will demote Peltz and require him to be retrained. They say he will also be stripped of his town-paid vehicle.
Peltz allegedly ignored safety code violations at private schools and yeshivas around Ramapo.
The public Town Board meeting for the final vote on Peltz's suspension is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday.
