Rockland County Attorney Tom Humbach is taking the owners of the Nanuet Days Inn to court, asking a judge for permission to shut them down.
County officials call it an illegal drug superstore and brothel.
This isn't the first time the Days Inn of Nanuet has been the focus of a criminal investigation. In November 2015, News 12 reported about a major drug investigation in Spring Valley code named "Operation Money Mike." Police charged Michael McMullen as the head of a drug distribution ring in Spring Valley.
Its alleged that McMullen ran his operation out of a room in the Days Inn, located on Route 59, just across the line from Spring Valley.
McMullen is currently in prison, but county officials say he was not the only customer of the hotel committing crimes from inside its rooms. There were 31 narcotics and 26 prostitution arrests there in 2016.
Humbach wants to use the county's authority to close the business as a public nuisance.
District Attorney Thomas Zugibe says he welcomes the additional legal action.
