Five-year-old Mt. Vernon boy in midst of custody dispute goes missing
Police are asking for the public?s help in finding a 5-year-old boy at the center of a custody dispute who has apparently disappeared with his homeless father.
Police say the boy was released from school to his father, 26-year-old Sebastian Reed, on January 31. The father did have the right to sign his son out of school, police say. Tiara Logan, the boy?s mother, says Reed is homeless and with each passing day in the frigid temperatures, her concern for her son?s safety is mounting.
Since it is a custody dispute and Reed hasn't committed a crime, police normally wouldn't get involved in this case. However, they say they want to make sure the boy is alright. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department at 914-665-2510.
