The Mount Vernon School District is investigating allegations that a teacher?s aide had a sexual relationship with one of her students.

Concerned parents say flyers appeared around the city last week with the woman?s name and face. They say the flyers alleged the Longfellow Middle School teacher?s assistant slept with a 15-year-old student and later got pregnant. The sister of the boy claims when her brother was a student at Mount Vernon High School 10 years ago, he had an ongoing sexual relationship with the assistant who was then a substitute teacher. The boy?s sister also claims her brother impregnated the woman.

The school district?s superintendent has confirmed the woman is now a teacher?s assistant at the middle school. The superintendent has also confirmed the district is looking into the allegations, but could not confirm if they are true.

No criminal charges have been filed against the woman at this time.
