Hawthorne parents plead not guilty for underage booze bash
The Hawthorne parents accused of allowing their teenage son to throw a booze bash in their home pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mount Pleasant Town Court.
Robert and Jean Angiello were arrested Monday after the bash apparently turned into an underage drinking party. Police say they found more than 40 teens drinking beer and hard liquor. The Angiellos say although they were home, they didn't realize the teens were drinking and they did not serve them alcohol. Police say the responsibility still falls on the parents. The couple is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.
Robert Angiello told News 12 Westchester he felt bad about the situation. He said, ?I have a responsibility to do a legally responsible thing.? Police say none of the teens at the party appeared to be drunk. They are looking into where the alcohol came from.
