Former Marine runs to raise funds for wounded troops

A former Marine from Rockland completed a 27-mile run Sunday to raise funds for wounded troops.
Cpl. Brian Gallagher started the Rock to West run/walk, which is short for Rockland County to Westchester County, at 5 a.m. He crossed the finish line at 100 Broadway in Ossining flanked by a camouflaged vehicle and fellow troops who believe in his cause. Gallagher raised about $25,000 for the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward helping troops.
Gallagher says being a Marine is about one's faith in God, county, the Corps and also helping others.
