Spring Valley man still making matzo despite warning

Despite being ordered to stop cooking in a bus, a man in Rockland County continues to fire up his makeshift matzo oven.

Firefighters were called to Rabbi Aaron Winternitz?s home on Wilshire Drive in Spring Valley Sunday. Neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the old school bus.

Police discovered the makeshift bakery a week ago after getting a complaint about smoke. Winternitz was ordered to stop using the oven until, and if, it passed an inspection. The building department is demanding proof from a professional that the oven is safe to use, since there are live gas and electricity lines piped into the bus from Winternitz?s house.
