Leg found on LI matches Mamaroneck torso

(04/04/07) MAMARONECK ? Police confirmed Wednesday the leg that washed up on a Long Island beach last week matches a torso that was discovered in Mamaroneck.
Police say they made the match through DNA testing. The torso originally washed up March 3 in a suitcase at Harbor Island Park. The leg washed ashore March 28 on a private Cove Neck beach owned by Cablevision President and CEO James Dolan. Police also revealed a second leg had previously washed ashore March 27 at Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island.
Investigators expect the leg found in Cold Spring Harbor to also match the torso. According to police, the torso had stab wounds and a tattoo of two red cherries on a green stem above the right breast. They believe the body is that of a Hispanic or light-skinned black woman between the age of 35-50. The victim?s height is estimated to be around 5 feet 6 inches tall and her weight to be 180 to 200 pounds.
Police do not have an identity on the victim. Cablevision is the parent company of News 12 Westchester.
