Peekskill mayor won't seek re-election
Peekskill?s three-term mayor, John Testa, has decided not to seek re-election. After almost six years on the job Testa, a Peekskill High School teacher, announced Wednesday that he and his family have decided to put politics on the back burner. ?It's time to focus on other things and I want to spend more time with my family,? said Testa, a Republican. Testa's announcement comes two weeks after Peekskill Democrats announced that Councilwoman Mary Foster would be the party?s mayoral candidate in November. Peekskill Republicans are expected to announce their slate of candidates sometime early next month.
