Ex-cop in dominatrix scandal speaks to News 12
The fired Greenburgh police officer at the center of a dominatrix sex scandal sat down and spoke exclusively to News 12 Westchester about his side of the story.
Former officer Erik Ward is going to court to fight the town board over his firing. He was let go after a controversial meeting with a professional dominatrix, Gina Pane, who was busted on marijuana charges.Pane alleges she was sexually harassed by Greenburgh police after she told them she was a dominatrix. Pane also claims she met up with Ward and had sex with him in order to get the drug charges dropped.
Ward says he did meet up with Pane the day after she was arrested when he was off-duty and alone. He says the meeting was meant to recruit Pane as a confidential informant. As a result of the allegations, Ward was suspended without pay for a year and eventually fired for not notifying his superior officer about the meeting.
When News 12 Westchester asked Ward if he had sex with Pane, he said, ?no, it never happened, it was a lie from the beginning.? ?I put myself in a position where it?s hard to defend myself against any allegations because I?m alone with her,? added Ward.
Ward has filed an appeal asking the state Supreme Court to throw out his dismissal. He?s also seeking back pay and wants to be reinstated with the same Greenburgh department that brought him up on the disciplinary charges.
