Newburgh mom suffers burn on eve of Mother's Day

A Newburgh mother is in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center?s Burn Unit after suffering third degree burns Saturday.Officials say the woman is currently under heavy sedation due to the extent of her injuries, but she is expected to live. Fire officials say a cop spotted the flames around 7:15 p.m. on the 200 block of Lakeside Road and rescued the badly injured woman. Authorities say more than 60 firefighters were needed at the scene to quell the flames, and the fire was under control within minutes. They say they are currently investigating the fire but have not released any findings yet.
