Rye man killed in wild Scarsdale single-car wreck

A man was killed Sunday when police say his car hit a guardrail, went airborne and eventually landed back on a Scarsdale road.
Authorities say 20-year-old Colin Marren, of Rye, was driving a BMW around 2 a.m. on Mamaroneck Road when the vehicle left the road. Investigators say the car then hit a guardrail, became airborne, knocked down a Verizon telephone pole, hit the guardrail again then rolled over. Authorities say it's amazing Marren's 19-year-old passenger was not seriously injured.
Car parts were found scattered around the street Sunday, along with a baseball cap and tire tracks leading up to the guardrail.
The cause of the single-car crash is under investigation. An autopsy on Marren's body is scheduled for Monday, May 28.
