A Tarrytown man claiming to be a faith healer is accused of sexually abusing a female client.
Sidney Curry claims he is an ordained minister and practices chakra, a healing process that focuses on the energy levels in a person's body. Police say Curry convinced a client to get undressed and sexually groped her for hours in his apartment under the pretense of spiritual healing. The victim told her husband what happened and they reported it to the police. According to police, the victim was first introduced to Curry at a deacon?s home.
Curry is charged with sexual abuse. He pleaded not guilty and is free on $3,500 bail. Police are investigating other complaints and say more charges could follow.
