More than 300 trees toppled in the town of Bedford after the storm on May 16. The Yorktown Highway Department has a machine dubbed ?the Beast,? which mulches massive amounts of wood. The machine was brought to Bedford to tackle the tree debris.Getting rid of the wood could have cost the town tens of thousands of dollars if an outside contractor was hired. Now, Bedford only has to pay the cost of running the machine and Yorktown gets mulch for its town residents.
