Yonkers man, family robbed after staged car accident
Authorities are looking for three suspects who robbed a man and his family at gunpoint after staging a bogus car accident on the man?s commute home.
Police say the Yonkers man was driving home around 10:30 Friday evening when a white van cut him off and another vehicle rear-ended him. Apparently, when the man pulled over, three men forced themselves into his car and ordered him to drive home.
When they arrived at the residence, police say the suspects held the family at gunpoint before making off with about $18,000 worth of money and belongings.
Authorities are advising residents who feel they are being followed or targeted in a similar way to call police and wait for an escort to assist. Anyone with information should contact Yonkers police by calling 377-7725.
