Man killed in Chappaqua when car jumps sidewalk

A man was struck by a car and killed in Chappaqua Thursday when the vehicle involved jumped a sidewalk.

According to witnesses, the driver of a Corvette appeared to lose control of the vehicle. They say the car was traveling east on King Street when it came flying through the intersection at North Greeley Avenue. They say the victim, who appeared to be in his 60s, was standing on the sidewalk down the street from the intersection.

Police blocked off the accident scene and closed two streets feeding into the intersection while they investigated. Police have not yet released the identities of either the driver or the victim.
