Police say a drunken-driving car crash in Bedford Hills claimed the life of the driver's younger brother.
According to police, 21-year-old Allan Salinas-Pagoda was speeding on the Saw Mill River Parkway around 6:30 p.m. Monday when he lost control, sideswiped another car, then crashed into a sign and a tree stump next to the road. It took emergency crews about 30 minutes to extricate the victims. The passenger in the car, 20-year-old Johnny Salinas, died Tuesday at the Westchester Medical Center.
Salinas-Pagoda refused a blood alcohol test at the scene of the accident. He was taken to the hospital for observation. Salinas-Pagoda was charged with DWI, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
