Driver in custody after body found in passenger seat
Woodbury town police have the driver of a car in custody after they found the body of a man in the passenger seat Saturday.
Police say they were alerted to a man driving recklessly southbound on Route 32 and followed the car a short distance. The man then pulled into a driveway and ran into an apartment building.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed a second person in the car. The officers determined the individual was not breathing, according to police.
Police say there were no signs of violence and that the two men knew one another. The cause of death has not been determined.
Authorities say the driver had been driving around with the man in his car for an extended period of time. He is under observation at a hospital and has not yet been charged.
