Warwick police nab suspects in burglary spree
Warwick police arrested the men they say are behind a burglary spree that spread through multiple counties over the last few months. On Thursday, police spotted a vehicle matching the description of one being sought in the string of thefts about a mile from where the latest burglary took place in Warwick that morning. According to police, property later identified as having been stolen that morning from homes in Warwick and Cornwall was found in the vehicle. Police found several weapons as well.
Authorities believe the three men, who all have prior records, are responsible for a series of burglaries in Warwick, along with ones in Sullivan County, and Sussex, New Jersey. Police say the men would ring residents? doorbells during the day, and if no one answered, they would break in. The suspects, who are from Port Jervis, Bloomingberg and Slatehill, are charged with burglary and criminal possession felonies. They are being held in the Orange County Jail. The arrests have brought a sigh of relief to residents in Warwick.
