Police ruled a Christmas Day shooting inside a Yonkers apartment was actually a suicide attempt.

According to police, the boyfriend of a former NYPD officer apparently shot himself in the stomach inside the fifth-floor apartment the couple shared. Police say the girlfriend had nothing to do with the shooting. It is unclear if the gun used belonged to the former cop.

The unidentified man is at a Lawrence Hospital listed in stable condition.
