Cops: 16-year-old girl fatally stabs boyfriend in back

Peekskill police say a 16-year-old girl fatally stabbed her boyfriend in the back with a butcher knife.

According to police, Latonya Fisher and her boyfriend, 17-year-old Justin Woodward, were at her apartment at Bohlman Towers Thursday night. Police say the two apparently got into a fight, during which Fisher allegedly stabbed Woodward in the back with a large kitchen knife.

Woodward?s mother said her son was telling Fisher that he was leaving her and heading south.

Woodward lived in Buchanan and was a student at Hendrick Hudson High School. The school has set up crisis counseling for students.

Police say Fisher?s mother was in the apartment at the time of the stabbing, but she was apparently unaware anything had happened.

Fisher is charged with first-degree manslaughter as an adult.
