Wake held for Peekskill teen stabbed to death
A wake for a Peekskill teen stabbed to death was held on Thursday night.
Nearly 300 students, parents, and teachers joined the family of Justin Woodward at Joseph Nardone Funeral Home to honor his memory. At the wake, the 17-year-old was remembered for his love of basketball and community service.
?He was loved by many and is missed by many now,? said Kenneth Bradshaw, a student at Peekskill High School. ?But everybody knows he's in a better place, so God bless his soul.?
The wake took place hours after his girlfriend, Latonya Fisher, was charged with second-degree manslaughter for his death. She is being held in Westchester County Jail on $100,000 bail and is expected back in court on Monday.
Woodward?s funeral will be held on Friday morning.
