Friends, family bid farewell to Yonkers shooting victim
The 22-year-old victim of a fatal three-way shooting was laid to rest Friday.
Tyronne Bergmann died after being shot in the chest Monday night outside the Raleigh Valentine townhouses in Yonkers. Family members say Bergmann was visiting friends at the low-income complex.
Bergmann had recently joined the carpenter's union and was attending college before his death. Two of the suspects in his killing are behind bars for other crimes. News of their incarceration was some consolation to family and friends, but mourners are still very much in pain.
"He was just a good person," said family friend John Smith. "To have his life snuffed out so early, it really hurts."
Authorities are continuing to investigate, and police say any tips about the killing should be forwarded to Yonkers detectives.
