Obama supporters prove NY is not just Clinton territory
Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) were determined to prove Saturday that New York, particularly Westchester, is not just Clinton territory.
Supporters of Obama took to the streets across Westchester to take part in rallies. Hastings-on-Hudson saw ?Obama Mommas? joined by their husbands, children and others, encouraging people to honk their horns in support.
Down the road in Dobbs Ferry, "High School Students for Obama" held another rally. While none of the teens are old enough to vote, they spent the day handing out buttons and literature for the candidate they believe has their best interests in mind.
Sen. Obama was in Minneapolis gearing up for Super Tuesday. Some don?t believe that Obama can defeat Sen. Clinton in the Empire State. However, at the county's biggest Obama rally in White Plains, many believe an upset is in the making.
Obama raised more than $32 million in January, due in large part to 170,000 new contributors. That is nearly double the one-month total of any other candidate. Obama?s campaigners in Westchester believe that proves he has the support of the people.
