Cops battle naked street fighter in Chappaqua
Mount Pleasant police say it took four officers and a Taser gun to restrain a naked man they were trying to arrest in Chappaqua Sunday night.
Officer Frank Cavallaro says the incident began when he tried to arrest 28-year-old Peter Lu, of Peekskill, who was banging on the front door of a woman?s home. Lu began using martial arts techniques on the officer. Cavallaro says he Tasered Lu twice, but it didn?t work.
Other officers arrived and also struggled to get Lu under control. At one point an officer says he even tried using his baton, but Lu was able to take it away from him during the struggle.
Police finally managed to restrain Lu when an officer drew his weapon and ordered him to stop fighting. It then took four officers to cuff his hands and ankles.
Lu was taken to the psychiatric unit at Westchester Medical Center. Police still don?t know what triggered his behavior.
Officer Cavallaro is in the hospital with a shoulder injury and may need surgery.
