Home invaders use painting as ruse to attack
Police say intruders posing as painters tied up a man and his daughter in their Caryl Avenue apartment Friday.
According to authorities, the man and his 7-year-old daughter were leaving their apartment when four men dressed in painting get-ups forced the two back in at gunpoint. The victims were then tied up with duct tape. The father was also pistol-whipped in the head.
The victim's wife and 10-month-old son were hiding in a back room the whole time. The wife managed to call police, and the suspects fled without stealing any items from the home.
Police have not released the names of the suspects. It is still unclear if the act was perpetrated at random or whether the attackers knew the family.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Yonkers Police Department.
