Friends and family of a Pelham man killed over the weekend in the Manhattan crane collapse remembered a life cut short by a freak accident.
Dozens gathered at the Pelham Funeral Home Tuesday to pay their respects to Wayne Bleidner. Bleidner and six other people were killed Saturday when a 19-story crane collapsed on Manhattan?s East Side. The 51-year-old Pelham resident was operating the machine, which was attached to an apartment tower, when it broke away and fell on a nearby townhouse.
Those who knew Bleidner say he was a good friend and a hard worker who loved his family. Bleidner is survived by his wife and son.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Catherine?s Church in Pelham Wednesday.Communitymourns worker killed in NYC crane accidentPelhamconstruction worker killed in NY crane accident
