A Brewster man won $1 million in a scratch-off game, making him the sixth lottery millionaire in the last eight months in Putnam County.
Richard Salamone bought a Silver Spectacular ticket in the McLean Avenue Variety Store in Yonkers March 22, and it paid off big. Salamone says he is a self-styled workaholic who holds down several jobs to provide for his wife and two sons.
Even though Salamone plays the lottery often, his wife says she never thought he would hit a jackpot on a scratch-off ticket. Salamone says he is not going to stop working, but says his good fortune will help him get out of debt.
