Police are trying to determine if a one-car accident Thursday on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers was caused by illegal racing.
State police officials say the driver of the vehicle may have been speeding while weaving in and out of traffic when he lost control and hit a guardrail at about 9 a.m.
?I looked out the window and [saw] the car hit the guardrail, spin around, come to a stop,? says Rocco Lovergine, who witnessed the accident. ?And [then] the kid came outside the passenger window.?
According to Lovergine, drivers frequently speed along the parkway.
?All the time, all the time,? he says. ?I've seen other accidents right out here.?
