Police are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon in Mount Vernon that left one man injured.
According to police, the shooting happened on 8th Avenue and North Street. The victim was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing emergency surgery.
"This is Mount Vernon," says local resident Dee Wilson. "It's wild and crazy and it's not safe like it used to be."
