Woman calls surviving heart attack 'a miracle'

A woman whose life was saved at White Plains Hospital with the help of new technology returned Tuesday to thank those who helped keep her alive.
Siegrid Buhlheller, 49, says she received a second chance at life on Feb. 25 when she went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital with a faint pulse.
Doctors at White Plains Hospital wrapped Buhlheller in a therapeutic hypothermia blanket, which lowered her body temperature and allowed her to be revived after her heart stopped. The hospital purchased the device only a week prior to the incident.
"I can't believe it, what happened with me, it's a miracle," Buhlheller says.
Buhlheller and her husband returned to the hospital Tuesday to thank the EMTs, police officers and hospital personnel who helped bring the mother of two back to life.
"She was lying there, and one of the doctors gave me her wedding rings, and I thought it's over, she's dead," says the patient's husband, Berthold Buhlheller.
