A partially clothed body of a woman was discovered behind a vacant building at the VA hospital in Montrose Friday, police say.

Lt. Dominick Chiumento, of the New York State Police, says the body of a woman, described as white and middle aged, was found on the property of FDR Hospital by a groundskeeper just before noon. Half of the clothes on the victim appear to have been ripped off.

Police are not revealing whether the victim was an employee or a patient at the hospital, nor whether she was sexually assaulted before being killed. The cause of death has also yet to be disclosed.

The victim's body was taken to the office of the Westchester County medical examiner.
