White Plains woman rescued from burning home

White Plains firefighters used their gear to rescue a woman from a burning apartment Thursday after she collapsed.
Officials say flames broke out inside a sixth-floor apartment at 90 Bryant Ave., trapping the 78-year-old tenant who lost consciousness just moments after calling 911.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene say thick, dark smoke filled the entire apartment, forcing them to use thermo-imaging cameras to find the fire and the victim, who experienced trouble breathing.
"We took our masks off, started giving her air, held her mouth open and she came around," says firefighter Kevin DiSanto.
DiSanto then took off his coat, wrapped the victim in it and carried her down the stairs.
The fire was contained to the bedroom and did not spread to any other apartments, although some tenants living on the sixth floor were evacuated. Firefighters say they are still investigating the cause of the blaze, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
