A Scarsdale woman says her mother was among the people killed in Binghamton by Vietnamese immigrant Jiverly Wong two weeks ago.

Ellen Brown, of Scarsdale, lost her mother, Roberta King, in the Binghamton massacre. King, 72, taught English at the American Civic Association where the shooting happened. She was one of 13 people killed.

Brown says her mother, whom people called "Bobbie," had a passion for teaching and living. King had 10 children and 17 grandchildren.

Brown says her family decided speaking about her mother was important, and she now hopes the recent tragedy will raise awareness about gun violence. Wong, she says, should not have had access to automatic weapons.
